The Flashback Chameleons
Rock and Roll at it's best

Since 2007

The Flashback Chameleons are a New Orleans area based rock 'n roll band made up of a group of musicians who share a wide range of musical talents, all designed to bring great music to any venue. FBC's music spans the decades, ranging from the roots of rock, through the British Invasion, and on up into the great decades of the 70's, 80's, and 90's. Even with this reputation for "flashbacks", it is not unusual to occasionally hear newer music as well. FBC's energy, along with their musical and vocal abilities, pump up the crowd and keep them asking for more! Onstage antics are another area where FBC won't disappoint. You never know what jokes, props, costumes, or other entertaining shenanigans are coming up...always fun, always entertaining.

The Band Members

Leading the band on vocals is Ray Legendre, a powerful, versatile vocalist and rhythm guitarist. His "ringmaster" stage presence helps keep FBC's shows rolling! An experienced front man, Ray has a knack for impersonating popular stars (and the occasional random cartoon character!) and great comedic timing! Ray plays rhythm and percussion instruments to fill out FBC's sound, and involves the audience in the show whenever possible.

Lead guitarist Jason Hippler delivers the rock 'n roll goods! Playing 6 and 12 string guitars and Mandolin, Jason channels the spirit of all your favorite guitarists and also provides lead and backing vocals. Jason's goofball antics bring the band (and sometimes the audience) to hysterics! Sure to bring a smile to the face of the most timid of wall flowers, and for some reason women love to run to the stage to kiss him...(wink, wink, nudge, nudge!)

Deedie Ducati, a veteran of several rock 'n roll and show bands, brings the keyboards and synthesizers, adding horns, strings and other layers of sound to the group. She has strong, wide-ranging vocals, both lead and harmony. Deedie brings much versatility to FBC by adding the most welcome element of a female voice.

Rico Espiritu is the backbone of this driving band. Rico will blow your mind with his style and power on the drums, and with his dry humor, you never know what he will come up with! Rico provides everything from a slow, soulful shuffle to the driving bombast of the great rock 'n roll drummers, both past and present!

Danny Hack joined FBC in 2017, replacing long time bassist Jay Carter. Danny's bass playing speaks with an authoritative voice and he is also quite versatile, classically trained in both cello and violin. Danny also adds falsetto harmony to many songs. He holds down the bottom end as the second essential part of FBC's rhythm section.
The Cave at Studio West

Studio West, a recording studio and learning center for up and coming musicians, was a creation of Deedie Ducati back in 2006. The building has been home to several bands for recording and rehearsals. Private music tutoring is also offered to beginners in the field. The Cave, as the Chameleons have nicknamed it, is where all the creative juices flow and where the band has rehearsals. A veranda just outside of the Cave provides a stage for outdoor performances on the property.
Benefits and Fundraisers

The Flashback Chameleons have a tremendously large heart for all good causes, but especially Kids, First Responders and Military Personnel. The band has performed at several benefits, most recently for police officers from a neighboring parish who were shot in the line of duty and also for Kidd's Kids, an organization created by it's namesake Deejay Kidd Kraddock, that provides chronically ill and/or physically challenged children (ages 5-12) with an all expenses paid, fun-filled vacation to Walt Disney World in Florida.

If it is possible with our schedule, we always try to contribute to causes in our community. To contact the band about your benefit, send us an email at the address below.
Recording Artists in Their Own Right

The Flashback Chameleons recorded their debut CD at Word of Mouth Studios in Algiers, Louisiana. Audio Engineer, Tim Stambaugh, said that the band was "great to work with. They were very professional, well prepared and a lot of fun." To obtain a copy of the band CD, send us an email at the address below.
